Our motto: Respect for self; respect for others
The International School Of Penang (Uplands) School is a co-educational secular, non-profit day and boarding educational institution offering a quality international curriculum to children aged 4 to 19 years old.
The School was originally founded in 1955 at the top of Penang Hill as ''Uplands School'', by the Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP) to provide expatriate planters a place to school their children. Over 50 years later we still provide a safe and caring environment for expatriates and Malaysian students alike, and for some, a ‘home away from home’ at our boarding houses.
‘The International School Of Penang (Uplands)’
We have retained the School’s original name ‘Uplands’ to preserve our long heritage and history since moving down from the hill. Today, Upland’s roots are still firmly in Penang; an island itself rich in the history of dynamic international and interethnic exchange.
Educating young people of over 30 nationalities, and being fully committed to the concept of Universal Values and International Ideals, and we believe that hope for peace in the future lies in an interdependent international community where ‘respect for self; respect for others’ is paramount.
