As this is the final newsletter for this academic year, on behalf of the primary team, I would like to thank UPTA, the Primary Class Parent Reps and parents for your support and assistance thrughout the year. We look forward to continuing and building on these positive relationships in he next academic year.
This week the Uplander 2017 yearbook was distributed to all families. It is a super edition highlighting the many events which have taken place during the past 12 months. Thank you to Ms Adkins and her Yearbook team for compiling such a creative, colourful yearbook which will be enjoyed for many years to come.
Tuesday of this week was action-packed as the Year 6 and 7 students designed, created and tested their group project rockets. Some were more successful than others!! Thank you to Dr Phipp and the Science department for organising this event.
The Primary Amazing Race organised by the House Captains and members of the DSS saw over 80 children participate in a fun event on Tuesday afternoon. Due to the heat and constant need for rehydration, the children completed their events on the field quickly and then moved to the Sports Hall for a dodgeball challenge. A very successful, well organised event.
On Wednesday, Ms Zita Joyce shared a presentation about the IB PYP at the UPTA coffee morning meeting. Sangwan Park and Johanne Dalsgaard completed the presentation with their own reflections of their PYP experiences at Uplands.
45 excited year 4 children had their school sleep-over on Thursday night. I am predicting many tired children and teachers in school today!
