Universities and Careers

While some students at Uplands have a clear vocational direction, others take time to gain a better sense of their academic interests. The Universities and Careers Department at Uplands (UCD) is pleased to introduce Naviance.  Naviance is a comprehensive college and career planning tool for both students and their families.

Naviance

The Universities and Careers Department at Uplands (UCD) is pleased to introduce Naviance. Naviance is a comprehensive college and career planning tool for both students and their families. Uplands students begin using Naviance in Year 10 to explore options for work experience and build a CV, and then again in Year 11 when choosing their Sixth Form subjects. They do this utilising career interest and personality inventories in the Naviance program.

In Year 12 students start their search for universities and careers. Naviance assists them in building their CV’s, drafting personal statements and keeping a college notebook. It can serve as on online notebook allowing them to keep the application process organised and easily accessible. Up to date information on occupational growth and salary/wages are available on the site. The individual student file is open to both students and their parents to enable discussion during the application process right up to Year 13.

Naviance is also the primary vehicle the UCD use to communicate with students and families as well as the UniDirections Blog.

Please make sure your email address is registered on Naviance to receive:

  • Upcoming meeting and event information
  • Announcements
  • Scholarship information
  • College search resources
  • University representative visits to Uplands

To log into Naviance use the Naviance Family Connection

If you have any questions, or need some assistance with the application process or Family Connection, please contact Mr. Mitchell.
