Library Studies

The aim of the libraries is to inculcate a passion for reading and research, but also to embrace the technological tools that will support the students for their future learning.

Library Studies at Primary

The School has two libraries, one dedicated to the Primary School, and the other dedicated to Secondary. Both libraries cater to support the Primary Years Programme (PYP), IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. They are also used for recreational reading.

Uplands Primary Library

This library houses approximately 10,000 books, which include various titles ranging from fiction, non-fiction, and reference books. There are a number of computers which give instant on-line access to a range of key educational resources. The library is supported by Eclipse software to facilitate book cataloguing. Students from Year 3 to Year 6 have been trained to use this system.

Students should be able to independently locate and determine the availability of a selected book title. Besides conventional books, the library has Tumblebooks and e-books available for download from the School’s website.
