The Communicative Bahasa Malaysia Course is an introductory communicative course for expatriate students studying at Uplands. This is a beginner course meant for expatriate students who have never learnt Malay before or have very little Malay. The course aims to provide expatriate students with various language skills and knowledge required to communicate effectively in Malay in various social settings.
The pupils will be taught according to their levels of language learning and the course adopts a very interactive approach to teaching and learning to encourage and enhance the communication skills among the students. The students will have their regular oral activities including role-plays, individual oral presentations, pair work, group work and sketches.
This course would enable the expatriate students to:
- acquire the basic vocabulary, language structure and grammar needed to exchange greetings in various social contexts
- understand, respond to and exchange greetings in various social contexts
- acquire the basic vocabulary, language structure and grammar needed to address members of public, friends and family appropriately
