Dear Uplands community

I hope that you enjoyed the (extra) long weekend and that you had a chance to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.

It’s been a very busy time at Uplands, in spite of the extended breaks and additional days away from school. Teaching and learning continue to move at real pace and it’s been great watching the students get down to business, in and out of the classroom.

The CCA’s have got off to a great start and it’s been wonderful to see so many youngsters making the most of the huge range of activities on offer to them. Our newest students have settled well and our year 7’s in particular have taken to the challenges of such a big move with confidence and such a positive attitude.

I am very pleased to report that we’ve had a tremendous response following on from the information evenings regarding our experiential learning trips, planned for October. The turnout at the information sessions was high and our students are already very excited about their trips. Please do get the forms in and make arrangements to meet the deadlines. If there are any concerns regarding the trips, please do get in touch.

It was lovely to meet so many parents, old and new, at last week’s UPTA coffee morning. These sessions provide a great link between the schools leaders and the wider community. Please do let Kas know if you would like any information sessions in particular from either Primary or Secondary colleagues. We will do our very best to accommodate these requests during the course of the year.

The feedback i’ve received so far from parents, staff and students regarding our new newsletter has been very positive. We always take care to try and respond to feedback, so please do let us know if you have any comments, positive or other. We will do our best to respond to them. Have a great weekend.
