ROAR Sports

At Uplands, we allow students to take part in any competitive sport/activity we offer, regardless of ability.  Our inclusive approach will foster confidence and an appreciation of being fit and healthy for life whilst instilling resilience.  ROAR Sports are offered in addition to our CCA program.

Physical Education and Sport plays an important role in the maintenance and development of a ‘healthy lifestyle’, something we all are becoming increasingly aware of.

ROAR SPORTS

A range of competitive and non-competitive opportunities

At Uplands, we offer a broad range of competitive and non-competitive opportunities. The ROAR SPORTS programme offers students the chance to become involved, to learn, to develop, to play and to enjoy the sport. We enter a variety of competitions within Malaysia and overseas to enable our students to participate and compete at an appropriate level.

The ROAR SPORTS programme has been developed in line with sports and competitions offered as part of the three organizations we subscribe to (PSAC – PENANG, ISAC -KL, and International FOBISSEA). Currently, teams represent the school at Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, and Over 15 age groups in a variety of sports:

While we allow students of the same year group to train with each other on a weekly basis,  most events are organized according to age levels, not year group in both primary and secondary.

In recent times we have traveled and competed against other international schools in Kuala Lumpur as part of the ISAC (formerly ISAKL)  sports organization; and also to Brunei, Singapore, Bangkok, and Pattaya to compete in a variety of FOBISSEA competitions.

Uplands currently offers the following ROAR SPORTS:

  • Football
  • Netball
  • Swimming
  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Touch Rugby
  • X-country
  • T-ball

All activities are organized at different age levels in both primary and secondary.
