Celebration Week
As part of our 70th Anniversary celebrations, we hosted a vibrant week of reconnection and reflection. The festivities began with a nostalgic school tour where alumni revisited their roots and shared memories with current students. Our Cultural Fusion Concert lit up the stage with spectacular performances by students and parents, celebrating the diversity of our community. The week culminated in a memorable Gala Dinner — a heartfelt evening of reconnection, stories, and celebration of the legacy we’ve built together.
The Tradition Continues
Uplands School was founded during the Malayan Emergency to provide a safe haven for the children of expatriate planters amidst threats to peace and stability. Located on Penang Hill, it began in mid-January 1955, initially housing approximately 60 children from a small private school called Uplands. The school’s commitment to education excellence and its elevated location led to the adoption of the name “Uplands” and its students being known as “Uplanders.”
